Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed his government's dedication to structural reforms, which he claims have significantly benefitted ordinary citizens. In a recent interview, Modi outlined his top three priorities for reforms over the next decade: continued structural reforms, a deeper focus on technological innovation, and further simplification of governance.
Modi highlighted how reforms have improved competitiveness, reduced reliance on middlemen, and bolstered infrastructure. He noted that the reforms are often misunderstood as solely economic, whereas social sector reforms have also made strides, enhancing the lives of people in neglected areas and empowering marginalized communities.
The Prime Minister also pointed to achievements such as the Goods and Services Tax, FDI liberalization, and digital advancements through platforms like UPI, which have modernized the economy. For MSMEs, reforms have simplified processes, improved credit access, and strengthened global integration, affirming India's standing as a digital leader.
