Controversy Erupts Over Mosque Funding Allegations in West Bengal

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari accused JUP founder Humayun Kabir of receiving funds from Bangladesh for a mosque modelled on Babri Masjid. Adhikari alleged Kabir's connections with TMC and Bangladeshi forces like Jamaat. Kabir refuted claims, asserting transparency in funding and inviting probes into allegations.

In a heated political dispute, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has alleged that JUP founder Humayun Kabir secured half the funding for a mosque, modeled on the Babri Masjid, from sources in Bangladesh. Adhikari, serving as the opposition leader in the West Bengal assembly, claims Kabir traveled to Bangladesh last year to procure these funds.

According to Adhikari, Kabir is collaborating with organizations like Jamaat and aiding the TMC in gaining favor among minority groups in the state. This, he claims, poses a threat to Bengali Hindus. Kabir, however, dismissed Adhikari's allegations as baseless, emphasizing the transparency of the mosque's funding and challenging Adhikari to investigate through a CBI or ED probe.

Kabir confirmed his visit to Bangladesh, which he maintains was for personal reasons. Denying any hidden agenda, he emphasized that the contributions for the mosque have been transparent and primarily sourced from within India. Kabir also expressed disbelief over Adhikari's attempt to link his visit to funding conspiracies.
