Tension erupted at the Thampanoor bus depot on Wednesday as Youth Congress activists clashed with police. The activists attempted to paste protest posters on buses depicting Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar as a rooster.
The police intervened, insisting that such posters were prohibited on KSRTC buses, which triggered a heated dispute with Youth Congress members. Nemom Shajeer, the district president, demanded Kumar's resignation in light of the serious allegations made by his wife.
Minister Kumar has dismissed these claims as politically charged and timed before the elections. However, his wife later stated she wouldn't pursue further action after he apologized. The minister has a history of legal separations, having married Bindhu Menon in 2014.
