Ashok Mittal, recently appointed as the deputy leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Rajya Sabha, has referred to the replacement of his predecessor, Raghav Chadha, as a standard procedure within the party. Mittal made these remarks during a press conference, asserting there were no unusual motives behind the transition.
Mittal, who represents Punjab in the Rajya Sabha, denied having any information about potential shifts in Chadha's political allegiance, especially amid speculations of Chadha joining the BJP. He assured that Chadha would continue to have a platform to speak in the Rajya Sabha.
The AAP has reportedly communicated with the Rajya Sabha secretariat regarding Chadha's removal and the allocation of speaking opportunities. Nevertheless, Mittal reaffirmed the party's democratic practices, indicating Chadha will have a role to play, particularly ahead of the Punjab Assembly polls.
