In response to mounting security concerns, French authorities have barred an upcoming Muslim gathering in Paris. The event was deemed a potential security risk, the nation's top law enforcement official announced Thursday.

The 40th Annual Meeting of Muslims of France, originally scheduled from April 3 to April 6 at the Paris–Le Bourget Exhibition Centre, was canceled upon Interior Minister Laurent Nunez's request. Paris police chief Patrice Faure confirmed the prohibition as a precaution amid growing tensions and elevated terrorism threat levels.

This decision follows heightened security measures across Paris, provoked by a recent bomb threat aimed at Bank of America's offices and continuous geopolitical unrest linked to the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran. Meanwhile, Makhlouf Mameche, representing the event's organizing body, disclosed plans to legally challenge the ban.
