Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday fiercely criticized the proposed delimitation bill, branding it a 'black law' that threatens to turn Tamil people into refugees in their own land. In a symbolic display of defiance, Stalin burned a copy of the bill and hoisted a black flag in protest.
The protest occurred in Namakkal, western Tamil Nadu, where Stalin is currently engaged in electioneering. Clad in black, Stalin and his supporters chanted slogans like 'Let us struggle, win together' to voice their discontent with the union government's move.
Stalin invoked the history of anti-Hindi agitation in Tamil Nadu in the 1960s and called for a widespread resistance to challenge what he described as the BJP's arrogance. He urged a statewide black flag protest, emphasizing the need to protect Tamil Nadu's interests from the NDA's proposed measures.
