In a bid to maintain party discipline and unity, KPCC Chief Sunny Joseph has urged Congress leaders and workers in Kerala to remain discreet on the topic of the Chief Ministerial candidate until the assembly election results are out. Joseph, supported by senior leaders including Ramesh Chennithala and K Muraleedharan, stressed that public discussions could harm the party's image and urged members to avoid social media posts supporting potential candidates.

The senior Congress contingent insists that the party's high command will finalize the Chief Ministerial candidate after the results are announced on May 4. Reflecting on Rahul Gandhi's campaign comments, Muraleedharan highlighted the importance of moving as a unified team, likening the party's effort to a synchronized group dance.

Chennithala and other leaders further criticized premature discussions as unnecessary, citing the existence of established procedures for selecting a CM and reiterating that any hasty debates might lead to public dissatisfaction. As the United Democratic Front (UDF) anticipates potential victory, Joseph assured that the selection process will involve all allies, maintaining the spirit of 'Team UDF.'
