This meeting attracted global attention with 40 participating nations, including an invitation to India, emphasizing security cooperation and critical supply chain facilitation.
As Iran and the US confirmed that the crucial shipping route will remain open amid negotiations, leaders like Starmer and Macron stressed the global responsibility of reopening the Strait. Their initiative aims for commercial shipping reassurance and mine clearance efforts to restore global trade stability, aligning with a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
Downing Street emphasized the importance of supporting the fragile ceasefire and ensuring the long-term security of shipping routes through the Strait.
