According to two of these officials, Lebanon's embassy in Washington preemptively communicated with the U.S. administration, stating that President Aoun would refrain from speaking with Netanyahu. The message was relayed during Aoun's call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
This development underscores the complexity of Middle Eastern diplomacy, highlighting Lebanon's current position and the challenges in facilitating dialogue between the neighboring states.
