Diplomatic Chessboard: Araghchi's Departure from Islamabad

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has departed Islamabad for Oman, ending possibilities of direct talks between US and Iranian officials in Pakistan. Araghchi's discussions with Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focused on West Asian tensions, amid ongoing regional conflict stemming from US-Israel actions against Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi departed Islamabad on Saturday, concluding his diplomatic engagements with Pakistani top officials. His exit signifies the collapse of prospects for direct engagements between American and Iranian delegations in Pakistan this week.

In Islamabad, Araghchi met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior officials, including Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, to discuss the volatile situation in West Asia.

The second tour after talks on April 11-12 ended without resolution was complicated by ongoing regional strife, initiated in part by a joint attack by the US and Israel on Iran.
