Tragedy in Aligarh: Labourer Loses Life in Construction Mishap

A labourer died after being buried under soil during pipeline repair work in Aligarh. Despite precautions, the incident resulted in the death of Mahindar. An inquiry has been initiated, and Rs 5 lakh compensation announced for his family. The municipal commissioner promised stricter safety measures in future projects.

In a tragic incident on Saturday afternoon, a labourer named Mahindar was buried under a large chunk of soil while working on a water pipeline repair in Aligarh. Despite immediate rescue efforts, he was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

The Aligarh Municipal Corporation announced an inquiry led by the Additional Municipal Commissioner, aiming to uncover any negligence involved. The municipal commissioner confirmed that all safety protocols were in place, but the road unexpectedly collapsed.

The UP government has offered Rs 5 lakh in financial aid to the deceased's family. Stricter security measures at construction sites will be implemented to prevent future mishaps, the commissioner stated.
