Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Sunday that the BJP would form a special squad to combat cattle smuggling and dismantle 'goonda raj' and 'syndicate raj' if voted to power in West Bengal. Shah, addressing rallies in Tehatta and Ranaghat, criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Congress for their alleged leniency towards terrorism.
He claimed that most cattle smuggling occurred through Nadia district, positing that it would take current Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee 71 years to clear her record. Shah asserted that past governments wined and dined terrorists, but the Modi administration has robustly combated terrorism through surgical strikes and airstrikes.
Furthermore, Shah accused Banerjee of sheltering infiltrators for political gain and assured that a future BJP government would expel them as they pose a national security threat. He promised to uphold law and order and ensure security for women and youth. Shah also promised environmental efforts to clean up the Churni River in Nadia.
