Myanmar's former leader Aung San Suu Kyi has recently transitioned from prison incarceration to house arrest, according to an announcement made on state television Thursday night.

The information, accompanied by a photo showing Suu Kyi seated with two unidentified men, was disseminated in a brief text by the Military Information Team.

Suu Kyi, detained since the 2021 coup, had faced multiple charges, leading to a 33-year sentence, believed by many to be a political strategy to hinder her return to power.
