An office belonging to the actor Vijay-led TVK allegedly became the target of arson early Friday morning in Kamanayakkanpalayam village, near Srirangam, according to local police.
While damage was described as minimal, the fire affected the thatched roof shading the building used by TVK for election activities in the Srirangam constituency. Social media is rife with CCTV footage purporting to show two men on a motorbike, supposedly the arsonists, though police have not yet validated this evidence.
Following a complaint from TVK, the Pettaivaithalai Police registered a case and have begun searching for the attackers.
