Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar has dismissed two FIRs filed by the AAP government against Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak as a diversion tactic. Jakhar contends these actions aim to shift focus from allegations surrounding Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's alleged intoxication during the state Assembly session on Friday.
Jakhar argued that AAP is targeting former members, like Pathak, who recently joined the BJP, in what he called a case of 'political vendetta.' He emphasized this as a strategic move to pressure remaining AAP members and prevent further defections.
The BJP plans to approach Governor Gulab Chand Kataria to raise concerns about the FIRs and Mann's conduct. Jakhar underscores the necessity for the party to stand against perceived double standards and expects electoral repercussions in the 2027 Punjab polls.
