In a critical disclosure, Deepa Dasmunshi, AICC General Secretary and Kerala in-charge, announced that the UDF allies would defer to the Congress in deciding the chief ministerial candidate if they clinch power.
This statement comes in the wake of the Assembly elections held on April 9, with results expected on May 4. Discussions with alliance partners have confirmed their agreement to let the Congress make the final call.
While social media buzzes with speculation about potential candidates, Dasmunshi emphasized that the Congress would adhere to its formal procedures, with the high command making the ultimate decision post-election results.
