In a dramatic turn of events, Tamila Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has established himself as a pivotal player in Tamil Nadu politics. On Monday, TVK supporters marked their lead in 103 constituencies with jubilant celebrations, echoing Vijay's 'whistle podu song' across the state. Adding to TVK's dominance, leader V S Babu is on course to claim a notable victory in Kolathur, currently leading by more than 2,551 votes, potentially toppling Chief Minister MK Stalin. Meanwhile, the Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA), spearheaded by DMK, is facing unexpected setbacks, clinching only 45 seats amid the ongoing vote count.
As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) maintains its position as the second-largest force, leading in 74 seats, anticipation builds with the commencement of the third counting round. In Tiruchirappalli East, Vijay continues to soar with 12,523 votes, widening the gap over competitor Inigo Irudayaraj. Meanwhile, TVK's KA Sengottaiyan leads Gobichettipalayam, outpacing the DMK with a 3,000-vote margin as the state waits for final results.
