Youngest Legislator's Triumph: Imchen Secures Koridang
BJP candidate Daochier I Imchen clinched a significant victory in the Koridang assembly by-election in Nagaland, defeating his nearest Independent rival by 3,123 votes. Imchen, who secured 7,317 votes, now becomes the youngest legislator in the 14th assembly, continuing his family's political legacy.

In a decisive win, BJP's Daochier I Imchen emerged victorious in the Koridang assembly by-election in Nagaland, defeating his closest rival by 3,123 votes, according to the Election Commission's data.
Imchen secured a total of 7,317 votes, while the Independent candidate Toshikaba garnered 4,194 votes. Trailing behind were other candidates including Imtiwapang and I Abenjang, with Congress candidate T Chalukumba Ao finishing far behind with just 144 votes.
The election followed the death of Imchen’s father, Imkong L Imchen. At just 35, Imchen now becomes the youngest legislator in Nagaland’s 14th assembly, maintaining his family's political influence in the region.
