In a decisive turn of events, the Congress in Kerala has hailed the latest Assembly poll trends as a 'thumping victory' for the United Democratic Front (UDF), which appears to be leading significantly over the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF).
Speaking at the party headquarters, KPCC president Sunny Joseph expressed confidence in the ongoing vote count, asserting that the outcome signifies a clear rejection of the LDF's 'anti-people policies'. This sentiment echoes the results of the recent local body elections, he added.
Senior Congress figures, including AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal and Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan, celebrated the trending results by cutting a tri-colour cake. Reports suggest the UDF is leading in 96 seats, with the LDF and BJP-NDA trailing behind.
