BJP leader and former Tamil Nadu state president K Annamalai expressed his gratitude towards the people of Tamil Nadu for a notable shift in the political arena, as the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is set to form the next government, ending the 10-year rule of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
On social media platform X, Annamalai extended congratulations to actor-turned-politician and TVK Chief Vijay, highlighting the dedication of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in what he described as a 'hard-fought' battle. He encouraged perseverance, asserting that better times are imminent.
In a surprising outcome, Chief Minister MK Stalin lost his Kolathur stronghold to TVK's VS Babu by a margin of 8,795 votes. Babu celebrated his victory at the Loyola College counting center, as TVK leads in 97 and wins 12 assembly seats, signaling a departure from decades of DMK and AIADMK dominance, pending official results from the Election Commission.
