Despite initially hesitating to become a deputy chief minister, Nishant has agreed to serve following his father's shift from the chief ministerial position to the Rajya Sabha.

Nishant Kumar's political engagement comes amid anticipations of a cabinet expansion, with notable figures such as Ashok Choudhary, Shrawan Kumar, and Leshi Singh also expected to assume ministerial roles under the JD(U)-BJP coalition.
