Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has categorically dismissed allegations of potential defections within the National Conference (NC) as 'baseless'. These claims surfaced after PDP MP Waheed Para suggested in a social media post that dissent was growing within the NC ranks.

Abdullah strongly criticized the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for spreading rumors. He pointed to an RTI revelation exposing PDP's electoral maneuvering that benefited the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the previous Rajya Sabha elections, despite lacking sufficient support.

In addressing various political issues, Abdullah reaffirmed his party's independent stance and transparency while denouncing external influences. He further commented on recent controversies surrounding West Bengal's election and assured plans to gradually reopen tourist sites closed after a previous attack.
