In a modest ceremony at Nuai Auditorium, Khumulwng, Runeil Debbarma was officially installed as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) on Wednesday. The swearing-in was conducted by Law Secretary Sankari Das. CK Jamatai also took the oath as an Executive Member (EM).
Current regulations permit several Executive Members to be appointed, yet only one has been confirmed so far. Speculation suggests further appointments will follow the anticipated Village Committee elections within two to three months. Notably absent from the ceremony was Tripura Motha leader Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, due to medical treatment in Mumbai.
Several political figures, including elected Members of the District Council (MDCs) and senior party leaders, did not attend. Significantly, Brishaketu Debbarma, a minister in the BJP-led coalition, and opposition BJP members, who are yet to assume their roles as MDCs, were missing, hinting at potential party discord.
