The swearing-in ceremony for Assam's newly elected BJP-led NDA government is set for May 12, as announced by Chief Secretary Ravi Kota. Prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several union ministers, are expected to attend the event.

The oath-taking will occur at the Veterinary Field in Khanapara. Extensive security, traffic management, and protocol arrangements are in progress to ensure the event runs smoothly, according to Kota's comprehensive review meeting update on Wednesday.

Despite Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's resignation, he continues as caretaker head. Observe and co-observe roles are filled by Union Minister J P Nadda and Naib Singh Saini for the BJP Legislature party leader election scheduled for May 10. The NDA clinched 102 of 126 assembly seats, confirming a third term in power.
