Nearly a year after a drone explosion carried out by Pakistan near Khai Pheme Ki village in Punjab, India, Jaswant Singh remains haunted by the horrific night that claimed his family. The Indian Army had intercepted the drone, but debris severely injured Jaswant's parents.
Battling for their lives, Sukhwinder Kaur died within days, followed by Lakhwinder Singh weeks later. Jaswant, the sole survivor, has since moved to a relative's home, grappling with the lasting trauma of losing his parents in such a devastating manner.
Financial compensation has been provided by the government and SGPC, but relatives, including his uncle Gurbachan Singh, argue it fails to replace human life. They are urging the state government to offer Jaswant a job, in hopes of some solace amidst his ongoing emotional struggle.
