Left Movement's Relevance: Marxism in Modern Times

CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby argues that the Left movement remains relevant despite electoral setbacks. He emphasizes that Marxism will endure as long as social and economic inequalities persist. Baby criticizes the BJP, Congress, and Trinamool Congress for their roles in escalating tensions and violence post-elections.

In a resolute stance, CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby affirmed the enduring relevance of the Left movement, despite the lack of power in any state government. Speaking in a PTI Videos interview, he countered BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar's claim of Marxism's obsolescence, emphasizing its necessity in combating social and economic inequalities.

Baby acknowledged electoral setbacks but maintained that the Left's commitment to the marginalized remains unshaken. He expressed that the CPI(M) and the Left would continue supporting workers, peasants, and other oppressed groups, ensuring their voices are heard amidst societal unrest.

Furthermore, Baby criticized the infighting within the Congress in Kerala and accused the BJP and Trinamool Congress of instigating post-election violence in West Bengal. He called for peace and stability, hoping for a swift return to normalcy. Baby assured that former Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan would address the election results at an appropriate time.
