Political Tensions Escalate: BJP vs AAP in Punjab

Political tensions are mounting in Punjab as the state's BJP chief, Sunil Jakhar, recently criticized AAP workers for their alleged disruptive behavior at multiple BJP district offices, including those in Amritsar and Ludhiana. Jakhar likened the situation to the political climate in Bengal under Mamata Banerjee, expressing strong opposition to AAP's alleged tactics.

Jakhar emphasized that the voice of the people would not be silenced and warned police and civil officers against misusing their positions. He cautioned them to work according to the law and reminded them of their accountability to the people and not to any political faction. He also called out AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, stressing that attacks on BJP offices wouldn’t deter ongoing corruption investigations.

Concurrently, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized Punjab's AAP government, accusing it of corruption following recent Enforcement Directorate raids. Saini argued that the Bhagwant Mann-led government should focus more on public welfare and development, pointing to the alleged financial discrepancies revealed by the enforcement agency's investigations.
