Americans Skeptical of Trump's War Justifications and Rising Gas Prices

A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll reveals that two-thirds of Americans feel President Donald Trump has not adequately justified the U.S. engagement in the conflict with Iran. This comes as the war continues to significantly impact the American economy, particularly through increased gasoline prices.

The poll highlights widespread dissatisfaction, with three-quarters of respondents, including half of Republicans, attributing responsibility for the hike in gas prices to the current administration. The economic strain is evident with 63% of households reporting financial burdens due to the rising costs.

Despite this, Trump's approval rating has seen a slight increase, rising to 36%. As midterm elections loom, the Republican party faces challenges in defending its congressional majorities amid public discontent over economic issues tied to the ongoing conflict.
