Senior CPI(M) leader and LDF convenor T P Ramakrishnan assured the press on Tuesday that there would be no delay in deciding the Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, emphasizing a stark contrast to the current ambiguity in the Congress-led UDF over the chief ministerial post.

Ramakrishnan emphasized that the CPI(M) Politburo has charged the party's state unit with making a prompt decision. He confidently stated that the selection process would not become a contentious issue, unlike the challenges faced by the UDF. Taking a dig at the Congress, he mentioned that opposition criticism would be more credible had the ruling party finalized their Chief Minister.

Addressing the claim by the CPI for the Deputy Leader of Opposition post, Ramakrishnan pointed out past instances when the CPI(M) held both top opposition posts. He cautioned against public discourse about such matters, advocating for internal resolution. LDF remains to finalize its opposition leadership in the Assembly following the CPI(M)'s emergence as the principal opposition post-April 9 elections.
