The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Tuesday demanded an apology from DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin over his contentious comments about Sanatan Dharma. The VHP called upon the Tamil Nadu Assembly speaker to remove his remarks from the House’s records and to expel Stalin for his divisive comments.

In response to Stalin's renewed call for the abolition of Sanatan Dharma, which he claims divides people, VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal accused the DMK leader of repeatedly insulting Hindu beliefs and warned that such attacks will politically harm the DMK. He suggested that the Tamil Nadu populace has already rejected these views through past elections.

The controversy has drawn attention to the INDIA bloc parties and the Tamil Nadu government for their muted responses. The VHP cautioned that continuous disparagement of Sanatan Dharma could have enduring political repercussions. As the debate intensifies, the VHP urged for clarification on whether parties align with the protection or eradication of Sanatan values.
