The Tamil Nadu Assembly was the scene of high political drama on Wednesday as the C Joseph Vijay-led government faced a floor test to prove its majority. The Congress and various Left parties announced their support for the ruling TVK government, while the chief opposition, DMK, opted to stage a walkout, abstaining from the vote.

Meanwhile, BJP, with its lone MLA, declared a neutral stance. The session saw spirited debates, with AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami opposing the government, even as a faction within his party led by S P Velumani backed Vijay.
