AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami made a decisive move on Wednesday, removing several party leaders including SP Velumani, C Ve Shanmugam, and C Vijayabaskar from their posts.
This action targeted rebel MLAs such as Natham R Viswanathan, who had gone against party orders by backing the TVK government during a confidence motion in the Assembly earlier that day.
Palaniswami promptly filled the vacant positions with new district secretaries, thus reasserting control and signaling a new direction for AIADMK's organizational structure.
