Amid rising tensions in Punjab's political landscape, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of leveraging No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to hinder opposition candidacy in upcoming municipal elections.
Party leader Bikram Singh Majithia alleged that officials were directed not to issue NOCs to SAD candidates. This complaint, echoed by regional party leaders, highlighted discontent over AAP's electoral tactics, a claim that the government refutes.
Expressing frustration over the State Election Commission's inaction, SAD leaders met officials in Chandigarh to raise these concerns, as elections for 105 municipal bodies approach.
