Boost in Argentina's Mining: New Projects Join RIGI Scheme
Argentina's government has approved two major mining projects, the San Jorge copper project and the expansion of the Cauchari Olaroz lithium project, to join the RIGI investment scheme. These projects, with a total investment of over $2 billion, are expected to create more than 8,000 jobs.
In a significant economic development, Argentina has green-lit the inclusion of two new mining projects into its RIGI investment scheme. This announcement came from Economy Minister Luis Caputo on Thursday.
The sanctioned projects comprise the development of the San Jorge copper project located in Mendoza, expected to attract investments amounting to $891 million. Meanwhile, the expansion of the Cauchari Olaroz lithium project in Jujuy is projected to receive $1.2 billion in investment.
Collectively, these initiatives are forecasted to generate over 8,000 direct and indirect jobs, marking a substantial boost to Argentina's economy and labor market.
