Punjab's AAP Accuses BJP of Manipulating Voter Rolls for Electoral Gain

Punjab's AAP accuses BJP of using the Election Commission to manipulate voter rolls in phase 3 of the electoral revision to gain power. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab has raised allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of manipulating the election process through the Election Commission of India (ECI) to secure electoral gains. This accusation coincides with the rollout of phase 3 of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls covering 16 states and 36.73 crore voters.

AAP leaders Aman Arora and Harpal Singh Cheema have criticized the BJP for allegedly compromising the neutrality of constitutional institutions. They suggest that the ECI is being exploited to influence electoral outcomes, a practice that undermines democracy and was witnessed during the recent Delhi assembly polls and West Bengal elections.

Echoing concerns about impartial voting processes, Cheema claims the BJP intends to weaken Punjab's political and constitutional autonomy, including threats to their resources. AAP calls for clean and transparent elections, stressing that Punjabi people will resist and reject BJP's tactics.
