In an unexpected move, the Madhya Pradesh administration on Thursday issued a stern communal censure to Saubhagya Singh Thakur, Chair of the Madhya Pradesh Textbook Corporation. The rebuke follows his arrival at the office accompanied by an expansive convoy, contravening state directives on fuel conservation during an ongoing global energy crisis.

State authorities, acting on instructions from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, temporarily stripped Thakur of his administrative and financial powers. The restrictions extend to prohibiting his presence within office premises and barring his use of corporate resources pending a comprehensive inquiry.

The incident has spotlighted inconsistencies within the ruling party, as several state corporation heads seemingly disregard Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pleas for reduced fuel usage. The state's BJP chief admits behavioral adjustments are forthcoming while emphasizing continuous advocacy for conservation-minded approaches.
