Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav lauded the state's High Court decision regarding the contentious Bhojshala-Kamal Maula mosque complex as a triumph for democracy on Saturday. Yadav likened his happiness over the judgment to the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, praising the harmony shown by both Hindu and Muslim communities in accepting the ruling.

Addressing the media, Yadav expressed satisfaction with the verdict's social and judicial implications. "This decision, through the court's division bench, brings a sense of pride similar to that felt for the Ram Mandir," he stated. Yadav applauded the court and highlighted the joyful reception of the judgment across communities.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court had, a day earlier, ruled in favor of granting the Hindu community rights to worship at the site while identifying it as a historically significant temple under Raja Bhoj that dates back to the Bhoj-Parmar dynasty. It overturned a previous ASI order allowing Muslim prayers there, and suggested potential land grants for a mosque if requested.

The court asked that the Indian government consider retrieving an idol currently in a London museum. In parallel, caveat pleas have been filed in the Supreme Court, anticipating appeals from the Muslim side. Until then, a temporary arrangement has been enforced to manage religious practices, overseen by the ASI.
