Greenland continues to assert its right to self-determination, Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen emphasized following a meeting with a special US envoy. In a respectful and constructive discussion, Nielsen reiterated that the territory is not for sale, firmly maintaining its stance on sovereignty.
The meeting, part of renewed US diplomatic efforts led by Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, sought to improve relations while addressing past tensions. Despite US desires for increased control to counter potential influences from Russia and China, Greenland stands firm on independence.
A working group involving Greenland, Denmark, and the US seeks viable solutions to ongoing security concerns. Meanwhile, Ambassador Ken Howery and other officials engage in diplomatic activities, including inaugurating the US Consulate's new offices in Nuuk.
