Bihar is poised for a political tug of war next month when 10 seats, seven of which are currently held by the ruling NDA, of the 75-strong state legislative council go to polls.

The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday announced the schedule for the biennial polls to nine seats of the Bihar legislative council.

By-poll will be held on the same date, on June 18, for the seat vacated by Choudhary's predecessor Nitish Kumar. Filing of nomination papers continues till June 6, with possible candidates from prominent parties like JD(U) and BJP.
