This year's Mahanadu is set to pivot towards a virtual format, spanning over two days from May 27 to 28. The decision follows an appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conserve fuel amidst the West Asia conflict. Originally planned as a three-day event in Nellore, Mahanadu serves to commemorate the birth anniversary of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao.
Under the leadership of party president and current Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the event's duration was curtailed to two days. Nationwide, TDP cadres are mobilizing to hold regional gatherings, while senior leaders from the Politburo and committees in charge will convene at the Mangalagiri central office. The agenda includes party flag hoisting, floral tributes to NTR, financial presentations, and discussions on key themes such as women's empowerment.
The concluding day, which coincides with NTR's birth anniversary, features audio-visual presentations and strategies focused on Telugu identity and state development issues. With 20 resolutions to be adopted, including 10 focused solely on Andhra Pradesh, the platform sets out a roadmap leading to imminent electoral battles, underscoring Mahanadu's strategic importance.
