Siddaramaiah announced his resignation from the position of Karnataka Chief Minister, submitting the letter to the Governor's special secretary in the absence of the Governor.

He explained that the decision followed a directive from the party high command and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve Karnataka, thanking key party leaders.
