In the wake of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's resignation, Congress leaders are engaged in intensive consultations to establish a new government in Karnataka. On Friday, the Governor accepted Siddaramaiah’s resignation and dissolved the cabinet, marking a major step towards the political transition.
A meeting of the Congress Legislature Party in Karnataka is scheduled for Saturday to elect their new leader. Siddaramaiah has expressed his intentions to remain active in local politics, while D K Shivakumar is anticipated to assume leadership. The discussions also include selecting candidates for the Rajya Sabha seats.
Siddaramaiah met with top Congress members, including Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, in New Delhi, where future political roles and strategies were deliberated. Shivakumar is expected to be elected as the new leader, emphasizing collaborative governance for Karnataka's future.
