In a significant development, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who chairs the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, expressed dissatisfaction with Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's performance concerning issues surrounding NEET-UG and CBSE exams. Addressing the media, Singh emphasized that the committee was unified in its stance, transcending party lines, and called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's direct intervention.

The Parliamentary meeting addressed concerns about the reliance on pen-and-paper testing versus computer-based testing, as well as the challenges encountered with the National Testing Agency and NEET exams. Notably, Singh demanded Pradhan's resignation or dismissal, labeling his handling of the examination processes as 'incompetent' and acknowledging the PM's role in seeking an effective resolution.

Meanwhile, amid media reports on the committee's activities, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh clarified that the panel did not extend any endorsement of the Prime Minister's 'system,' citing previous exam mishaps, including the paper leak controversy. As the panel prepares for further discussions, expectations are high for safeguarding exam integrity and improving systemic efficiency.
