Bahrain bans citizens from travelling to Iran and Iraq, citing regional security concerns

Bahrain has temporarily banned citizens from traveling to Iran and Iraq due to regional security concerns following attacks by Iranian proxies in the Gulf region.

Bahrain ​has ‌banned citizens from ​traveling to Iran ‌and Iraq until further notice citing regional security concerns, ‌the interior ministry ‌said on Tuesday. Iran and its Shi'ite Muslim proxies in ⁠Iraq ​have ⁠launched attacks against Gulf countries, ⁠including Bahrain, since the onset ​of the U.S.-Israeli conflict ⁠with Iran.

Bahrain has a ⁠majority ​population of Shi'ite Muslims but ⁠is ruled by a Sunni ⁠family.
