In a significant development in West Bengal, Minister Tapas Roy has endorsed the ongoing National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe involving former Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Saokat Molla. Roy emphasized the importance of cooperation with investigative authorities when involved in a case, asserting that appearing before the agency upon summons is mandatory.

This follows the NIA's recent operations at Molla's residence in Bhangar, South 24 Parganas. The investigation pertains to a fatal bomb blast preceding the West Bengal Assembly polls. Handed to the NIA for central oversight, the case has led to several arrests, including TMC's Wahidul Islam, as part of the efforts to unravel the truth.

Simultaneously, another case involving the recovery of crude bombs in West Bengal has been registered. On April 26, the NIA took charge after police discovered 79 crude bombs tied with jute ropes, posing risks to life and property. This renewed push highlights the ongoing battle against illegal explosive storage in the region.
