European Powers Urge Dialogue Between Ukraine and Russia

In a united front, Britain, Germany, and France have expressed their support for initiating peace talks between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia, aiming to bring an end to the prolonged conflict. Their joint statement applauded Zelenskiy's initiative for direct dialogue.
European leaders, along with Zelenskiy, gathered in Downing Street following the Ukrainian President's open invitation for talks with Putin, which sought to find a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing war. However, the Russian leader dismissed the olive branch, insisting on a long-term agreement.
Emphasizing Europe's crucial role, the leaders mandated conditions for peace, including a ceasefire and security guarantees for Ukraine. Zelenskiy stressed the importance of Europe's firm stance in negotiations, advocating for a strengthened diplomatic approach.
