Karnataka politics has witnessed a significant shift following the seamless transition of power, with DK Shivakumar assuming the role of Chief Minister. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of former CM Siddaramaiah, praised the unprecedented smoothness of this political change, noting that this marks the first time a sitting chief minister has voluntarily vacated their position, honoring prior commitments.
In parallel to these developments, Yathindra Siddaramaiah took a strong stance against the BJP-led federal government's decisions, particularly criticizing the recent hike in domestic LPG prices. He accused the administration of prioritizing its financial gains over the welfare of the public, especially during a time when international crude oil prices had previously dipped without translating into relief for the consumers.
The current spike in LPG prices, now set at Rs 942 for a 14.2-kg cylinder in New Delhi, comes amidst ongoing global economic uncertainties exacerbated by the West Asia crisis. Yathindra lambasted this approach as reflective of an 'anti-people' stance, drawing attention to the increased financial burdens faced by ordinary citizens as a consequence of these policies.
