In anticipation of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have escalated security measures in the region. A comprehensive combing and sanitization operation took place in Jammu, involving Women Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel alongside their male counterparts. These efforts form part of a wider security strategy for the annual pilgrimage.

Authorities are focusing on area dominance, surveillance, and strategic deployment of forces across key routes and locations related to the Yatra. Emphasizing their commitment to the pilgrims' safety, officials assure that all necessary precautions are being implemented in preparation for the large-scale religious gathering, set to commence on July 3 and conclude on August 28.

A recent exercise tested operational readiness, including emergency scenarios such as evacuations, crowd management, and security threat responses. The mock drill featured Anantnag Police and CAPF personnel in action, concentrating on enhancing communication and coordination. Anantnag Police underscore the need for high alertness and professionalism to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience.
