VP Naidu describes Sushma Swaraj's demise as huge country loss

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has attended the last rites of former External Affairs Minister and senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, Smt. Sushma Swaraj, who was cremated with State Honours, here today.
Earlier, Shri Naidu visited her residence in New Delhi and offered his condolences to the family members.
The Vice President in a message said that he was deeply shocked by the sudden demise of Smt. Sushma Swaraj.
Shri Naidu described her death as a huge loss to the country and personal loss to him. “She was an excellent administrator, outstanding Parliamentarian, and a remarkable orator. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family member,” he added.
Later in a Facebook post, Shri Naidu recalled his long and close association with Smt. Swaraj and her family and mentioned that she used to tie Rakhi on his wrist every year.
The Vice President said that she served the country selflessly and described her as an embodiment of integrity, dignity, and grace.
He said that she was known for her humane and compassionate nature and used to always respond to people in distress.
