Eid ul-Adha was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across the city today as people flocked to mosques and Eidgahs here to offer prayers.

A spirit of festivity marked the celebrations.

People exchanged greetings and large gatherings were seen at mosques which were decorated magnificently and the markets were abuzz with activity.

The main congregation was held at Eidgah Residency Road where a large number of devotees performed Namaz-e-Eid.

On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma, Inspector General of Police S D Singh Jamwal, Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Vivek Gupta among others prayed for peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir.

The administration here made elaborate security and other necessary arrangements for the smooth celebration of the festival.
